Aircel to offer BlackBerry services
Submitted by Raja Chauhan on Fri, 09/18/2009 - 08:18Leading telecom operator, Aircel has announced its collaboration with Canada’s Research In Motion (RIM). The aim of collaboration is to provide BlackBerry services to the Indian customers.
As per a statement issued by Aircel, the company will offer BlackBerry services to its users’ in some major states.
For offering the service, Aircel will leverage its domestic presence and Redington’s retail distribution channel.
Reliance plans to lift up $880 million

As per the statement from a fund manager, the company may be planning to buy a petroleum asset out of the country, taking help of fallen valuations.
Yamaha unveils its new 1679cc bike

The superbike, which is named as ‘V Max’, will be priced at Rs 20 lakh.
The new bike has 1679cc engine. The company is hoping to acquire 10% market share in India by 2012.
Company’s top official told reporters that they are anticipating 3 times growth in sales during the upcoming festival season.
NALCO gains 2% on NPCIL order

Nalco has come up with a plan to set up nuclear power plant in south Orissa’s Ganjam worth Rs 12,000 crore. For this, the company is in talks with Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL).
Shares of Nalco have touched an intra-day high of Rs 348.90 and low of Rs 342. The total volume of the shares traded stood at 52,232.
Omaxe’s subsidiary to construct township in Lucknow

Omaxe in its filing to the BSE has announced that Garv Buildtech Private Ltd has enterted into a MoU with Lucknow Development Authority for construction of township at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The proposed area for the township is about 2700 Acres, located at the Lucknow Ring Road, close to Lucknow Airport.
Suven Life receives US patents for NCEs

In a statement to the BSE, the Hyderabad-based biopharmaceutical company said that U. S. patent office has approved two molecules in the central nervous system
(CNS) arena developed by the company for the treatment of cognitive disorders and these patents are applicable till 2022 and 2024.
HDIL agrees to pay tax on Rs 350 crore additional income

RNRL files intervention plea in NTPC-RIL row in SC
Submitted by Manish Sood on Wed, 09/16/2009 - 06:01Reliance Natural Resources Ltd (RNRL), a firm of Anil Ambani group, has filed an intervention plea in the Supreme Court seeking permission to intervene in the ongoing NTPC-RIL gas dispute.
The RNRL has claimed that the issues raised by the state owned power PSU have a direct effect on its own case against the RIL.
Currently, Mukesh Anbani led RIL and Anil Ambani led RNRL, are in a gas row. The case is in the Supreme Court and RNRL is asking for gas at $2.34 per mmBtu.
Cox & Kings plans to raise $100 million through IPO

Cox & Kings has already initiated the process for an IPO as the company has filed the preliminary draft red herring prospectus with market regulator Sebi. The company had also tried last year to go for an IPO, but the adverse market conditions had compelled it to drop the idea.
Mercedes-Benz to expand R&D in India

German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has announced that it has decided to increase its employee strength in the research and development (R&D) segment in India.
The company said that it is looking forward to add around 200 engineers, both from German and India, to its Indian R&D unit by 2010 end.
