BlackBerry makers have brought out a new smartphone featuring a touchscreen and slideout keyboard, which it anticipates will ward off rivalry from Apple's iPhone.

The new smartphone will hit the US market on Aug 12.

Priced at $199.99 along with a two-year agreement with AT&T, the new new BlackBerry Torch was launched in New York on Tuesday.

Leading telecom operator, Aircel has announced its collaboration with Canada’s Research In Motion (RIM). The aim of collaboration is to provide BlackBerry services to the Indian customers.

As per a statement issued by Aircel, the company will offer BlackBerry services to its users’ in some major states.

For offering the service, Aircel will leverage its domestic presence and Redington’s retail distribution channel.
