HCL launches ‘Mobile Entertainment’ Champaign

Personal computer manufacturer HCL Infosystems has announced to rebrand its range of laptops as ‘ME’.
As announced by the company, ‘ME’ stands for ‘Mobile Entertainment’, and it hopes to increase its market share to 20% in the next two-three years. At present, the company’s market share is just 7 per cent.
While addressing media, Mr. Ajai Chowdhary, Chairman and CEO of HCL Infosystems said, “The new HCL ME campaign has been made keeping in mind the requirements of today's customers who are on the move and seek seamless connectivity to the virtual world.”
The company would spend Rs 40-50 crore on rebranding of its products in the market.
A study conducted by Indian Market Research bureau (IMRB), which disclosed that there is a great need for mobility among the target sections but the nuances of mobility differs in different age groups.
For youths, laptops means to be in-contact with their community, but for the jobseeker, laptops plays a vital role as it provides greatest incentive in career growth and technology sector.
The company has started its campaign in order to establish a youthful and vibrant image of the brand, and assures better bond with next generation customers. All HCL Digilife stores as well as retail outlets would be rebranded as part of the policy.
